IN US THEATERS
From March 6

Grunge Texture_edited.jpg

Produced and directed by UK-Chinese filmmaker Chee Keong Cheung, Son of the Soil follows Zion Ladejo, a former Nigerian Special Ops paratrooper, who has built a quiet life in exile, but his sister’s sudden death drags him back home to a Nigeria battling drugs, corruption and organised crime.

Fresh off its festival triumphs, including three Black Star Film Festival awards, the AFRIFF Audience Choice Award, plus two awards from seven nominations at the Best of Nollywood Awards, Son of the Soil is an intense, emotional and action-charged story set in modern-day Nigeria, delivering an unforgettable big-screen experience that sets the benchmark for African action cinema.

Son of the Soil was described by Nollywire as “Nollywood’s most ambitious action film yet” and by The Guardian in the UK as a “bone-crunching Lagos revenge thriller with bruising swagger”. Gritty, propulsive and emotionally grounded, the film combines high-impact action set pieces with a character-driven revenge narrative.

Following the film's recent U.S premiere at the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF), it arrives in select U.S theatres at AMC and Regal from March 6th - 12th. See a list of currently confirmed venues below.
